Foreign Languages Faculty

  F ounded in 1937 and originally – till 1991 had been functioning as the Faculty of the Russian language and Literature. The faculty has its rich history and traditions. Its graduates are the famous scientists: the first academician of Karakalpakstan M.K.Nurmukhamedov,  academician Kh.Khamidov, professors A.Umarov, К . М . Коshanov;  two Heroes of Uzbekistan – the national writer of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan T.Kaipbergenov, legendary teacher from the Nukus region A.Uteniyazov, the laureates of the Beruni State Prize docents A.Turabaev, S. Allayarov and many other honored citizens of the republic. Today the faculty consists of 3 chairs: the Russian Philology, the English Language and the Foreign Languages (inter-faculty). 57 professors are engaged in the work with the students. There are 2 Professors, 9 Candidates and docents among them. The professors of the foreign languages faculty use up-to-date teaching technologies on their lessons concentrating on the communicative and inter-active methods.
    A big attention is paid to scientific work.  The scholars of the faculty actively collaborate with universities and research centers of Russia, Kazakhstan, the USA, Germany, India and other foreign countries. Many of them visited the countries of the learnt language in the framework of the scholarship and exchange programs.
   The students of the faculty are provided with all necessary resources: up-to-date computer room connected to the Internet, lingua-phone room, library and video fund in the foreign language.

The faculty trains bachelors in the following fields:
– «English Language»;
-   «Russian Language and Literature» (see   fields of study and their codes).
