Faculty of karakalpak language and literature

Faculty of karakalpak language and literature, one of the firstly established faculties of institute was founded in 1934. Nowadays there are 2 departments in the faculty : karakalpak linguistics and karakalpak literature, where work 30 professor teacher. 5 of them are doctors of science, professor and 10 candidates of science, dotsents. 1 teacher is the winner of Berdakh laureate, 1 teacher is honour muster of public education in Uzbekistan.

Scientific research work is being conducted on very actual problems of lexicology, lexigraphy, dialectology, phraseology and terminology of   karakalpak linguistics ; and problems of folklore, epos, history and modern development of karakalpak literature and also on the methodics of language and literature teaching. Faculty conducts a scientific research collaboration together with higher educational institutions and Scientific Research institute of Central Asia. There is post-graduate course and Master course of karakalpak language and literature in the faculty.
