General Information

In order to improve access of the professors and students to all kinds of publications and to the Internet-resources according to the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan PK-381 from June, 20, 2006 the library of Nukus State Teacher-Training Institute was reestablished into the Information-Resource Center (IRC).

The IRC has the following services and equipment:  

        - book delivery section  (5);

        - reading rooms  (6);

        - reading rooms for 274 seats with the Internet access and electronic database (3);

        - multi-media computers (33);

The book fund of the IRC consists of 145003 units. Here is the catalogue description:  

        - textbooks and teaching aids – 75728 units;

        - belletristic  – 42194 units;

        - scientific literature – 18589 units;

        - electronic teaching aids  – 1515 units;

        - essays – 255 units.

Every month the IRC observes the coming literature, publishes a bulletin lightening the new comings and distributes it to all the faculties and chairs.

Since 2002 the Institute has been practicing digitalization of the documents and bibliographic data, scanning and Xerox copying of the rare book editions and teaching aids. Electronic catalogues of books and periodicals allowing a user to find necessary resources with the help of such searching commands as «Individual and Collective Author», «Key Words», «Subject Columns», «Classification Indexes», «Publishing House», «Date of Publishing (the certain year is shown)» and «Document Language» have been made.

There have also been prepared electronic versions of the lectures in the Institute. 302 names of the literature have been copied to compact-discs.
