Our Graduates – The Heroes of Uzbekistan

Allaniyaz Uteniyazov .   Born on June, 1, 1936 in the village Drujba (“Friendship”) of the Khalkabad region, Karakalpakstan, in the farmer’s family. In 1962 he graduated with excellence from the English department of the Foreign Languages Faculty of Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute. When a student he showed unusual abilities picking up during each cotton campaign over 15-16 tons of cotton. After the graduation from the Institute, during 1962 - 2002 he worked as an English teacher for the secondary school №4 of the Nukus region. He brought up a son and two daughters. Since 1954 he had been engaged in the charity building without payment houses for poor families, invalid, sick and old people during his summer vacation. During his life Allaniyaz Uteniyazov built personally 40 houses, 2 schools, 2 kindergartens for 30 seats, 2 hospitals, 1 library. In 2000 he planted trees within the area of 15 hectares of land. For his merits before the native land A.Uteniyazov was awarded with the degrees «the National teacher of Uzbekistan», «the Distinguished worker of the Public Education of Karakalpakstan», «the Selectioner of Uzbekistan» as well as «the Hero of Labor». Three documentary films were made about this person some time ago. The achievements he got had been brought into the Guinness’s “Records Book.” In 2001 Uteniyazov was conferred a degree “the Hero of Uzbekistan.”

 

Tulepbergen Kaipbergenov .   Born on May, 7, 1929 in the village Shortanbay of the Kegeyli region, Karakalpakstan. In 1947 he finished the Teacher-Training Specialized School in Khojeyli, and in 1955- the faculty of the Russian Language and Literature of Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute.   After the graduation from the institute he starts his literary activity in the literary journal «Amu-Darya» and later becomes its chief editor. Afterwards he works as an assistant-director for the Karakalpak Radio Committee, chief editor for the Republican newspapers, assistant-director for the Publishing Committee of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Since 1980 to the present moment T.Kaipbergenov has been leading the Union of the Writers of Karakalpakstan. The first book of Kaipbergenov was published in 1958. It had been followed by over than 80 literary works that were translated into the Russian, Uzbek and other languages. For the enormous contribution into the culture Tulepbergen Kaipbergenov had been awarded with the degree “the National writer of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan.” The writer is a laureate of the state Berdakh and Kashkari Prizes, a laureate of the International Sholokhov Prize. In  2003 T.Kaipbergenov was conferred a degree “the Hero of Uzbekistan.”



  Ibragim Yusupov.  Born on May, 5, 1929 in the village Azat of the Chimbay region, Karakalpakstan. The father of the future poet was repressed and did not return, his mother Khanbibi brought up two sons and four daughters. At the age of 13 Ibragim Yusupov started to work . Having graduated in 1949 from Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute he teaches here up to 1962 the theory of literature. Besides, during 1961-1962 he works as an editor for the journal «Amu-Darya». In 1962-1965 I.Yusupov is a scientific secretary,  in 1965-1980 гг – a member of the Union of the Writers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, in 1980-1988 – chief editor for the newspaper “Erkin Karakalpakstan”,  in 1988-1994 – a member of the Peace Committee, in 1994-2000 – an employee of the Culture and Education Center of Karakalpakstan. He is the national poet of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan, the author of the National Anthem of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. His poems had been translated into several languages. In 2004 Ibragim Yusupov was conferred a degree “the Hero of Uzbekistan.”


 

  Vera Borisovna Pak .   Born in 1938 in the Kungrad region, Karakalpakstan. Graduated from Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute. At present she is a deputy of Oliy Majlis, a member of the Uzbek Senate. The director of the Children s asylum №20 of Khiva . In 2001 V.B.Pak was conferred a degree “the Hero of Uzbekistan.”





 

Gayratdin Khojaniyazov . Born on December, 12, 1948 in the Karauzyak region, Karakalpakstan. Having graduated in 1972 from Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute he started working in the archaeological sector of the N.Davkaraev Research Institute of History, Language and Literature at the Karakalpak Branch of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences. In 1974-1977 he is on scientific trial first at Lomonosov Moscow State University,   and then- at the Institute of Archaeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1981-1984 he is in post-graduate school, in 1996 he obtains his Candidate’s degree. Since 2000 to the present G.Khojaniyazov has been leading the archaeological department of the Science Academy. He is the author of 130 scientific, more than 100 scientific-research works published in Uzbekistan and abroad in different languages. Among the works: “The History of the Development of Fortification of Ancient Khoresm”(1981 г . ); «The Traditional-Burial Monuments of Karakalpaks of the XVII-XIX-th centuries on the materials of the Grave Krantaw» ( 2005 г.); “Dawkeshen-Vazir» ( 1997 г.); “The Military Architecture of Ancient Khoresm of the VI-th century B.C. – the IV-th century A.D.” (2006) and others. For the significant contribution in the science Gayratdin Khojaniyazov was awarded in honor of the 10-th anniversary of the Uzbek Independence with the order Independence of Uzbekistan ( 2001 г.) and in 2003 году – with the order “Hero of Labor.” In 2008 he was conferred a degree “the Hero of Uzbekistan.”
