Marat Nurmukhamedov (1930-1984). Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, doctor of philology, professor. In 1950 graduated from Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute. In 1953 obtained a candidate’s degree, in 1965 – doctor’s degree. The distinguished scientist of the Republics of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan. The laureate of the state Beruni Prize of the Republic of Uzbekistan and of the Berdakh Prize. The first academician of Karakalpakstan. One of the secondary schools of Nukus had been named after M.Nurmukhamedov.

 

 

Sabir Kamalov (1924–2009). Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, doctor of history, professor. In 1948 graduated from Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute. In 1953 obtained a candidate’s degree, in 1969 – doctor’s degree. The distinguished scientist of the Republics of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan. An active member of the New York Academy. The laureate of the Berdakh Prize.

 

 

Amin Bakhiev (date of birth: 1937). Academician of the Academy of sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, doctor of biology, professor. In 1961 graduated from Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute. In 1967 obtained a candidate’s degree, in 1983 - doctor’s degree. The distinguished scientist of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The laureate of the Berdakh Prize. The director of the Bio-ecological Institute of the Karakalpak Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

 

 

Jumanazar Bazarbaev (date of birth: 1933). Academician of the Academy of sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, doctor of philosophy, professor. In 1955 graduated from Karakalpak State Teacher-Training Institute. In 1964 obtained a candidate’s degree, in 1973 - doctor’s degree. The distinguished scientist of the Republics of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan, the distinguished worker of the higher and secondary special education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the laureate of the Berdakh Prize.
